Privacy Policy

Most of Thailand Toolkit works with no account and no data collection at all — a calculator page loads, you type numbers into it, nothing is sent anywhere. This policy covers the parts that do involve data: creating an account, and any advertising we may show in the future.

What we collect

If you don’t create an account

Nothing beyond standard web server logs (IP address, browser, page requested) kept briefly by our hosting provider, Vercel, for security and reliability. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter into a tool are never transmitted to us. The one exception is subscribing to our email newsletter, which only collects the email address you provide — see Newsletter below.

If you create an account

Your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see your password in plain text).
Preferences you set: dark mode, language, and whether you’ve opted into email updates.
Tools you’ve favorited.
If you use the “save this calculation” option on a tool: the inputs you entered and the result, timestamped. Some tools deal with income, property values, or visa details — we treat this history as sensitive and it’s never visible to anyone but you.

How we use it

To run your account — signing you in, remembering your preferences, showing your favorites and saved calculations back to you. If you’ve opted into email updates, to occasionally send you those. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use your account data to train any model.

Subscribing to our email newsletter — from the site footer or the end of a guide — doesn’t require an account. We use double opt-in: submitting your email creates a pending signup and sends a confirmation email, and nothing further happens until you click the link in it. We store your email address, its status (pending, confirmed, or unsubscribed), which page you subscribed from, and the relevant timestamps. If a signup is never confirmed, it’s automatically deleted after 30 days. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately, no account or login required. We don’t share your email address with anyone, and we don’t use it for anything other than sending you the newsletter you signed up for.

Cookies & local storage

If you sign in, we set a cookie to keep you signed in between visits — that’s required for an account to work at all. Your dark/light mode choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage rather than sent to us. Beyond that, the only third-party cookie currently in use is set by an affiliate partner’s tracking network when you click a marked affiliate link — see Affiliate links below. We don’t run any other third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Affiliate links

Some pages on Thailand Toolkit contain affiliate links, currently limited to Wise and clearly marked as sponsored. If you click one, the partner’s tracking network (Partnerize) may set a cookie in your browser so that, if you later sign up and complete a qualifying transaction, Thailand Toolkit earns a commission. This costs you nothing extra and does not change the price or service you receive. We do not send the partner any personal information about you — attribution happens entirely through the partner’s own link and cookie. Affiliate relationships never determine what we write: pages are researched and published before any partnership applies to them, and our comparisons and guidance stay editorial. If we show advertising

We don’t display third-party advertising today. If that changes — for example, through Google AdSense — this section will describe it in detail, but in general: third- party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info/choices.

Who else sees this data

Two infrastructure providers process data on our behalf to run the site: Supabase (our database and authentication) and Vercel (our hosting). Neither uses your data for their own purposes. We don’t share your data with anyone else, and we don’t sell it.

How long we keep it

Account details and favorites are kept for as long as your account exists. Our policy is to retain saved calculation history for up to 12 months before it’s deleted. You don’t have to wait for that, though — you can delete individual entries, or all of your history, at any time from your account page.

Your choices

From your account page you can view every favorite and saved calculation we hold, delete any of it individually, clear it all at once, change your preferences, or delete your account entirely — which removes your profile, favorites, and history, then the account itself. There’s no waiting period and no need to contact us first, though you’re welcome to if anything doesn’t work as described here.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes — like starting to show advertising — will be reflected here before they take effect.
