What's the Ft charge?
A fuel adjustment charge added to every unit of electricity, reviewed and changed roughly every four months as fuel costs change. It's the figure in this calculator most likely to be out of date.
Does this work for businesses?
No — this uses the residential (Type 1.2) tariff for households using more than 150 units a month. Business and low-usage residential (Type 1.1) rates are structured differently.
Why are there three rate tiers?
Thailand's residential electricity tariff is progressive, similar to income tax — you pay a higher rate per unit as your usage climbs past 150 and then 400 units in a month.
