Find how much rent you can comfortably afford based on your income.

Comfortable max rent

฿15,000

Max rent
฿15,000
Remaining income
฿35,000

How this is calculated

Max rent is your monthly income multiplied by your target percentage, minus any other monthly debt payments you enter. Remaining income is what’s left after rent and those debt payments.

Frequently asked questions

What percentage of income should go toward rent?

30% is a widely used guideline, though it originated in Western housing policy rather than Thai norms. If you have significant other debt payments or savings goals, a lower target such as 20-25% may be more comfortable.

Should I use gross or net income?

Net (take-home) income gives a more realistic affordability picture, since that’s what’s actually available to pay rent each month. Use the Net Salary Calculator first if you only know your gross salary.
