Visa Extension Calculator
Find when to apply for your extension, or estimate an overstay fine if you've missed it.
Before you rely on this
Overstay consequences go well beyond the fine calculated here — immigration offices apply rules with some discretion. If you’ve overstayed, address it directly with Immigration as soon as possible rather than relying solely on this estimate.

How this is calculated
If your expiry date is in the future, the tool shows a window between 45 and 30 days before that date as your application window, since offices vary on exactly how early they’ll accept an application. If the date has already passed, it estimates an overstay fine of ฿500 per day, capped at ฿20,000 (reached at 40 days), plus a possible re-entry ban if the overstay exceeds 90 days.

Frequently asked questions
Is the fine the only consequence of overstaying?
No — beyond the daily fine, overstaying more than 90 days can trigger a re-entry ban of 1 to 10 years depending on how long you overstayed, if you leave voluntarily rather than being caught. Being caught or deported carries harsher consequences than this calculator's ban estimate. Children under 14 are exempt from re-entry bans.
Can I still apply for an extension before my current one expires?
Generally yes — commonly 30 days before expiry, though many offices allow up to 45. This genuinely varies by office, so this tool shows a range rather than a single date.
Is there a fee for the extension itself?
Yes — the extension of stay application fee is ฿1,900, separate from any overstay fine.
